SIERK VOJACEK CHINESE MEDIA
AND PARTNERS

The Chinese media is still tightly controlled by the state: hence the expression "the last virgin industry in China". But media is following every other industry on the path of opening up, and in the days to come it will be grown up and mature for marriage with private and foreign investments. Despite the tight control, the speed of development of the industry is frightening: fifteen years ago advertisements were almost absent from the Chinese life, while today not only is it everywhere but the quality is also approaching or even surpassing its western counterparts.

Venturing into Chinese media before the total opening up can often give people a feeling of uncertainties and difficulties, but if one is able to discern the trend of the development in the industry, the benefits of embedding oneself early in the field can never be overstated.
